Oregon Zoo Project
Window Testing in Portland, Oregon
QED Lab worked on the Oregon Zoo, performing comprehensive field window testing to verify the performance of installed glazing systems under real-world conditions. Our team conducted AAMA-accredited window testing, which included controlled water penetration testing and air leakage evaluation to assess installation quality, sealant continuity, flashing integration, and overall resistance to wind-driven rain. Using calibrated spray equipment and controlled pressure differentials, we simulated demanding environmental conditions while closely monitoring the interior for any signs of water intrusion or air leakage. This testing helped confirm that the window systems were properly installed, durable, and capable of protecting the enclosure and interior spaces over the long term, supporting both animal welfare and facility performance at one of Oregon’s most iconic institutions.
