Boise Franklin Apartments Project
Window Testing in Boise, Idaho
QED Lab was on site in Boise, Idaho performing professional window testing at the new Franklin Apartments project. Our scope of work includes field water penetration testing in Boise conducted in full compliance with ASTM E1105 and AAMA 502, verifying that the installed window systems can withstand simulated wind-driven rain conditions. The testing evaluates installation quality, sealants, flashing, and window-to-wall transitions to ensure proper performance and long-term durability. By identifying deficiencies early, this process helps protect interior finishes and supports long-term building performance.
ASTM E1105 in Boise Idaho is the industry standard for field water penetration testing of installed windows, doors, storefronts, and curtain wall systems. The test simulates wind-driven rain by applying a uniform water spray to the exterior of the assembly while a controlled air pressure difference is applied to the interior. Technicians then observe the interior side for any water intrusion beyond the defined plane. ASTM E1105 is widely used as a quality assurance measure to confirm proper installation, reduce the risk of future leaks, and ensure building envelope systems perform as designed under real-world conditions.
