515 Century Drive Mock-Up Project in Bend

Recently, QED Lab performed an AAMA-accredited window test on a freestanding mock-up at the 515 Century Drive project in Bend, Oregon. The testing included a water penetration test conducted on a VPI casement window, completed in full accordance with ASTM E1105 as referenced by AAMA 502. This procedure evaluates the window’s ability to resist water intrusion under controlled pressure differentials, confirming that it meets the strict performance standards required for energy-efficient and weather-resistant construction.

By conducting this testing during the mock-up phase, QED Lab helped the project team validate the performance of their chosen window system before installation, reducing the risk of costly rework later in construction. Our work ensures that the building envelope at 515 Century Drive will perform reliably against Bend’s variable climate, providing long-term protection, durability, and comfort for future occupants.
