Fir Grove Townhomes Project in Vancouver
Air Barrier Testing in Vancouver
QED Lab is currently performing residential air barrier testing at the new Fir Grove Townhomes project in Vancouver, Washington. Each townhome is tested individually in accordance with the Washington State Energy Code Residential Provisions, ensuring compliance with state energy efficiency and airtightness standards. Our testing is conducted using negative pressure at 50 Pascals, with a typical air leakage rate of 5 ACH (air changes per hour)—a benchmark that confirms the homes meet the required performance criteria for comfort, durability, and energy efficiency.
Working alongside an outstanding project team that includes GINN Group, MWA Architects, and Interface Engineering, QED Lab’s role is to verify the quality and performance of the building envelope before occupancy. By confirming that each unit achieves proper air sealing, we help ensure Fir Grove Townhomes provides residents with healthier indoor environments, lower utility costs, and long-lasting energy-efficient housing that aligns with Washington’s sustainability goals.
